Liberty Christian School is committed to each child’s growth—spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually—as they explore the world of academics.
To ensure that all students have every opportunity to succeed, Liberty Christian School has created academic standards in reading, language, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and Bible. These rigorous standards outline what students should know and be able to do at each grade level.
While the standards set expectations for student learning, they do not prescribe how the standards should be taught. Qualified and degreed teachers use their skills, experience, talents and varied resources, in addition to the prescribed texts, to design standards-based classroom lessons that meet the individual needs of their students.
Effective curriculum, instruction, and assessment do not happen by accident. They are the result of the planning and collaboration of many people. These academic standards have been carefully chosen, evaluated and edited to meet department and grade level academic goals and meet the needs of individual students. Evaluation against state and national standards, as well as many varied sources including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Science, and English and Stanford Standardized Testing ensures that these standards meet or exceed the excellence our school’s mission prescribes.
Recognizing that without the written word of God and the Living Word, Jesus Christ, an excellent education does not ensure the success of each student, Liberty requires that biblical concepts and understandings be included for each discipline. Regardless of the subject, a worldview is being etched in the students’ hearts and minds, impacting their decision-making for a lifetime. Liberty is committed to teaching all disciplines from the perspective of a biblical worldview, with God’s Word as the unshakable foundation. With the Liberty Christian School Academic Standards and Biblical Concepts in place, students will be well equipped with the skills and knowledge to prepare them for the future God has planned for them.
